SANDAKAN: In line with the Government’s efforts to develop Sandakan into a vibrant,
dynamic and high-growth waterfront city, a new lifestyle-oriented boutique hotel
called Homestead Inn is set to provide visitors to the city with a chic yet affordable
place to lodge.
A signing ceremony between the owner of the hotel, Sara-Timur Properties Sdn Bhd,
and the company that is to manage the hotel, Value Hospitality Limited, was held
yesterday at the Sandakan Municipal Council conference hall.
The development of the hotel is supported by the Ministry of Tourism Malaysia and
the financing for the construction of the hotel was provided by SME Bank. Homestead
Inn represents a new hotel brand to be managed by Value Hospitality. The Group.
Which is a hotel profit improvement and management specialist, currently manages
a stable of eight hotels under the Everly, Beverly and Prescott brands throughout
Dennis Tan, Group General Manager of Value Hospitality, said, they were indeed pleased
that the owners of Homestead Inn had selected Value Hospitality as the manager of
this stylish hotel.
“While it may be the newest hotel in our stable, our track record over 17 years
has clearly proven that we are able and capable of unlocking the full potential
of this gem of a property,” Tan said.
He said they intend to apply their management expertise that focuses on operational
and marketing efficiencies to Homestead Inn, adding that their brand of management
has been well proven over the years in terms of higher satisfaction rates not only
for their guests but also their employees, who are both integral elements to any
