Miss Malaysia Earth title to Perak-born Beauty

TANJUNG KELING-Audrey Ng from Perak was crowned Miss Malaysia Earth 2008 at Everly
Resort hotel in Tanjung Keling recently. The 22 year-old beauty beat 15 other finalists
for the converted title at the national level pageant. She will represent Malaysia
in the world finals scheduled to be held at Seoul, South Korea in November.
A belated Audrey Ng told MHI that she has a responsibility to showcase Malaysia
to the world in a more attractive way to promote more on tourism.
The fact that Melaka and Georgetown have been listed in the UNESCO World Heritage
Site will make her easier to attract foreigners to both Melaka and Penang. She hoped
by this weay she could help Melaka achieved its target of 6.8 million tourists by
December and perhaps next year too.
Audrey also paid tribute to her friends who have been very supportive and full of
positive encouragement. she would work closely with the state tourism promotion
division to prepare her for the world finals.
Jean Wong, 24 was crowned the first runner-up, Jezamine Lim, 24 as second runner-up
and Stefanie Chin, 21 as the third runner-up. Melaka State Tourism Committee Chairman
Datuk Seet Har Cheow, Miss Malaysia Earth 2007 Dorcas Cheok and a number of dignitaries
were present to witness the pageant
